Entry #1: My Hobbies
Let's start this off by saying I don't do much, but when I do actually do something, I have to enjoy it in order to continue it. I will be honest I don't have many hobbies, but the few that I do have are all similar to the one I will be talking about today. The hobby I will be talking about today is playing music. Now this can be a very wide genre to many people, like what you play, what kind of music, etc. Now we will get to all of that, but I am going to start out simply and ask if you play music what instrument do you play, and if you don't play but would like to try what instrument would you play?
So, I play three main instruments the guitar, piano, and trumpet. I have been known to play other instruments though. I am an avid enjoyer of music and always have something playing in the background if I am not paying anything. Now some who play music might say that these instruments are easy to play, and some say they aren't easy to play. I will start by explaining why I only really play these three instruments. These three instruments have very similar playing styles to me, and I also was trained on something that implemented both sides of music. Now there is some more information you need to know about this before you try playing these and say they are difficult. There are two main ways to play music in a band or an orchestra. I personally was a band kid, but that doesn't mean I didn't help the orchestra kids when I had time.
I started playing music when I was 5 and I started with the piano in which I learned until I was 8 years old. Now I didn't get it straight away, in fact it took me years to understand how to play. Now though if you place a piece of music in front of me, I can play it if you give me some time to practice it. Piano is to me a basic requirement to understand music. It plays on both sides of the staff. I had to learn how to play on both sides of the staff and that's why it made learning other instruments easy for me. Now I will say practice is essential to learning how to play music and I wasn't the best at it. Now I should relate how piano made it easy for me to learn the other instruments that I can play. So, to start with the piano uses keys and strings which happens to be what my other two main instruments use to play music.
The guitar and trumpet were more recently learned by me, but at the same time as I was learning them, I also got to play some instruments in an orchestra. I played the cello, violin, and harp. Now if you look at these instruments, they are all string instruments, the reason for that is the fact that people can get sick if they share a mouthpiece with someone else without cleaning it properly. A mouthpiece is used for the trumpet, trombone, and clarinet. I still enjoyed my experience of getting to try these new instruments for the first time. If you couldn't tell by now, I enjoy trying new instruments.
To end this off though I would like to remind you of the questions I asked in the beginning. If you know how to play music what instrument do you play and if you want to play music what instrument do you want to try out? I am signing off for now, until next time peace out people.

Hey! I think that is super impressive that you know how to play multiple instruments. I myself only did band for three years playing the trombone. It was super fun and I was a quick learner but unfortunately I took an interest in art instead. Is guitar a difficult instrument to learn? I absolutely love the electric guitar to be specific. I'm sure you'll understand when I say that every piece of music I listen to- every song, I always admire the 'everything' behind the lyrics and truly take in the sound. It is such a beautiful thing and I am so glad you share a passion for it!
ReplyDeleteI will talk about guitars more on another blog if you would like, but for now guitar is a really fun instrument to learn. If I had to give advice is there are two different types of guitar players that I have seen as I taught some people. The first one is someone who uses only sheet music and the other is one who try’s to learn by ear off of YouTube. It is up I you, but I suggest trying out guitar and if you don’t like it don’t worry it’s not meant for everyone. I have many friends who don’t like the fact that I can play guitar and they don’t, but at the same time they have never tried and don’t want to give it a shot. Also if you think about it music is art just in a listening point of view so think about it.
